Good Samaritan Hospital Announces 2006 Dedicated Service Award Recipients
Suffern, NY November 3, 2006 -- Good Samaritan Hospital, a member of the Bon Secours Charity Health System, has announced Eileen Hamilton as its 2006 Dedicated Service Award recipient and Edith Fitzpatrick as the Dedicated Service Award recipient for Good Samaritan's Home Care Division.
Each year, Good Samaritan Hospital selects a Dedicated Service Award recipient from both the hospital and its home care agency. Nominated by their peers, the Dedicated Service Award honorees represent the very best Good Samaritan Hospital has to offer in quality service, civic contribution and workplace collaboration.
Hamilton and Fitzpatrick are both seasoned Good Samaritan employees. Fitzpatrick is a Community Health Nurse and has been a valued member of the Home Care staff for the past 10 years. Likewise, Hamilton has worked at Good Samaritan for almost 11 years and from the onset of her career she has been a strong advocate for her staff and patients alike as Director of the Admitting Department. It is both Hamilton and Fitzpatrick's boundless dedication and passion for helping patients that has earned them the Dedicated Service Award.

Fitzpatrick organizes, collects and distributes food and clothing for her patients both around the holidays and whenever she feels there is a need. Fitzpatrick's level of care and effort does not stop with her patients, but extends to her patients' families as well. Fitzpatrick ensures that grieving family members receive the counseling and support needed to get them through the loss of their loved one.
Toni Clark, Executive Vice President of Good Samaritan Hospital Home Care said of Fitzpatrick, "Edith's care and compassion for patients and families is apparent. She has been a shining example of what community health care should be. She exemplifies the Bon Secours mission in all she does."
Hamilton is also very active in the community and helps collect donations for American Cancer Society survivors, is captain of Good Samaritan Hospital's American Heart Association "Heart Walk" team and helps organize various Good Samaritan Hospital charity events.
Both Fitzpatrick and Hamilton have earned much deserved respect from their peers and serve as mentors and resources for their staff. Hamilton and Fitzpatrick have succeeded in incorporating Bon Secours' core values of compassion, integrity, justice, and stewardship into their everyday lives and consistently bring help and guidance to those in need.
